Location

Balbriggan has a location the envy of any town, being on the eastern seaboard of Ireland, 15 minutes from Dublin Airport and 20 minutes from the new Dublin Port Tunnel. The opening of the M1 Motorway means Belfast can be reached in 1 1/2 hours and Dublin in 20 minutes. The new M1 Motorway Service Park is located 2 minutes from the town, which is also very well served by bus and train. Balbriggan is set to become the capital town of all the outlying villages and towns in its hinterland.

A very strong retail mix exists in Balbriggan town, and one does not need to travel outside its’ boundaries to find absolutely everything - Supermarkets, large and small, fresh fruit & foods; petrol stations and newsagents; clothes shops, ladies and gents; children's’ and baby shops; furniture; flooring; interiors; gifts and crafts; florists, jewellery, footwear, electrical goods, books and stationery

Industry

Industry is something which is expanding here at an enormous rate. We have the IDA Industrial Estate at Stephenstown in which some big corporations are based, including a CD manufacturer, a fish processing factory, serviced offices facilities company, a clothes manufacturer and soon to have a leading tyre manufacturer as well as being home to the relocated Passport Office. This industrial estate is some 10 acres in size and there are plans for many more factories in this area. Also in this area one will see Balbriggan Business Park. Part 1 is long established and houses a considerable number of established businesses. Part 2 is under construction and will also hold a large number of business in small to medium sized units.

BEAT

Balbriggan Enterprise & Training Centre is located in this area and is a private enterprise giving low cost units and assistance to start up companies. A new and upcoming development is the Service Centre which will be located just off the M1 motorway at the first interchange to Balbriggan. This will be a very considerable project, the first of its kind in Ireland, and an enormous boost to the Balbriggan region.
